We Started a Podcast. Here’s Why It Was Worth It.

Introducing Get to the Point, the High Point Networks Podcast

Technology is one of the most talked-about subjects in business, especially today. Yet even so, it’s one of the most misunderstood.

Not because the technology itself is impossible to grasp — but because well, everything keeps changing. Evolving. It’s become difficult to know if what we’re hearing or reading about is still relevant (or ever truly was), and how exactly it applies to our worlds. And frankly, it’s become a task in itself to find what actually matters from the endless sea of jargon, hype, and fluff.

That’s what Get to the Point — The High Point Networks Podcast was built to fix.

Why We Built It

The idea behind Get to the Point is simple: what if we stopped talking about just the technology and started talking about what it actually does for people?

Not the specs or the features, but the why behind it all — right to the point of it.

What does a wireless network mean for a university trying to attract and retain students? What does a real-time crime center mean for a community trying to protect its people? What does understanding your cyber insurance policy mean for a business leader who never wants to find out the hard way?

Those are the conversations we believe are worth having. And those are the conversations we’re having on Get to the Point.

What We’ve Learned So Far

We’re a few episodes in now, and a few things have already stood out.

First, people are hungry for this. The response to our initial launch and early episodes has made clear that business leaders and IT professionals want real and authentic talk over vendor pitches. Right now, and hopefully always, real wins. Leaders want to understand the why behind the decisions they’re being asked to make every day. They deserve to.

And hey, we get it. Information technology isn’t always the most riveting topic in the world to everyone. That’s what makes a fresh approach to it, like this, matter.

Second, the best moments are the unexpected ones. We’ve heard words to live by that left the room at a loss for words, reflecting on them long after we wrapped. We’ve found what makes this worth doing (and it has very little to do with the tech itself). And we’ve found the fun in all of it.

Third, this is just the beginning. We have episodes coming that will dig into physical and cybersecurity culture, emerging studies and trends, and the decisions that keep IT leaders up at night.

You’ll hear from our own team of experts — and from the incredible leaders outside our walls, navigating the same challenges you are. Every other Wednesday, we’re showing up to help you cut through the noise.
